Gene Bank Highlight – SANCHO

The RSG Foundation Gene Bank is designed to make quality sheep and goat genetics more accessible while supporting the future of the industry. Through breeder donations, semen and embryos are made available at a reduced cost to help new and young producers strengthen their programs.

 

These contributions also support youth engagement, education, and ongoing industry advancement – creating opportunities for the next generation to succeed.

Semen Grant Application

The RSG Foundation offers quarterly Gene Bank grants to youth under 21, providing access to semen and embryos to help advance their sheep and goat breeding programs.

 

Recipients are selected from submitted applications and receive instructions via email to redeem their genetics, with all procedures completed by RSG or an approved veterinarian. Apply today!

NEW First Flock Herd Program Winner Highlight

The RSG Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the 2026 First Flock-Herd Grant Program, a national initiative designed to support young and aspiring livestock producers in acquiring their first breeding sheep or goat.

 

Get to know one of our sixteen grant recipients below:

 

Macy is a 16-year-old from Brillion, Wisconsin, and the daughter of Chad and Rhonda Vande Hey. She attends Brillion High School, where she competes on the FFA Livestock Evaluation Team and the Calumet County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl and Skillathon Team. Macy began showing sheep seven years ago at her county fair and now competes at jackpot shows and the Wisconsin State Fair. She is excited and honored to receive this opportunity from the RSG Foundation Inc. as she works toward a future career in agriculture and her goal of owning her own sheep operation.

Featuring live animals, frozen embryos, and semen, this sale offers a rare opportunity to access high-quality genetics that are typically difficult to obtain due to import and availability limitations.
