  • Engaging youth and building the next generation of small ruminant producers and leaders through mentorship programs, conferences, and online resources.
  • First Flock-Herd Program: helping youth establish their sheep flock and/or goat herd.
  • Support existing youth programs with the same focus on youth engagement.
  • Scholarships for training and higher education will be available.

  • Facilitating collaboration and idea exchange among producers, researchers, policymakers, and industry partners to drive innovation and position the sector for continued growth and resilience.
  • Addressing global challenges like food security, poverty alleviation, climate change, and biodiversity loss by scaling context-appropriate small ruminant farming models worldwide.
  • Providing education and training to producers, youth, and other stakeholders to promote best practices in animal welfare, environmental stewardship, business management, and production methods.

Genetic Preservation & Expansion

  • Preserving genetic diversity and expanding the availability of heritage and rare breeds to maintain production options in the face of disease, climate change, and shifting consumer demand.
  • Elevating standards of animal welfare and sustainability across the industry to meet rising ethical expectations.
