LEBANON, Ind. — October 13, 2026 — The RSG Foundation is proud to announce that Premier 1 Supplies will continue its support of the First Flock-Herd Program in 2027, providing $500 in Premier 1 Supplies credit to each grant recipient.

The First Flock-Herd Program was created to help young people take their first steps into animal agriculture by providing resources to establish a flock or herd of their own. Each selected recipient receives up to $1,000 toward the purchase of an animal, along with additional support for supplies and feed.

Supporting the Next Generation

Starting a livestock project requires more than purchasing an animal. Premier 1 Supplies’ continued commitment gives each recipient $500 to put toward equipment and supplies needed to care for and manage their new livestock.

“Premier 1 Supplies’ continued support allows us to provide our First Flock-Herd recipients with resources that go beyond the initial purchase of their animal,” said Dr. Tad Thompson, DVM, RSG Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful for their commitment to helping the next generation get started in animal agriculture.”

RSG is currently reviewing applications for the 2027 First Flock-Herd Program grant recipients following the October 1 application deadline. Selected recipients will receive financial and industry support to help them purchase livestock and build a strong foundation for their future in animal agriculture. The 2027 grant recipients will be announced in January.

Through partnerships like this, the RSG Foundation can continue reducing barriers for young producers while providing them with resources to build a strong foundation for their livestock projects.
