First Flock-Herd Grant Deadline Nears

Are you or someone you know a young person dreaming of raising sheep or goats? The RSG Foundation’s First Flock-Herd Grant is designed to help youth across the country get started in livestock by awarding funding toward the purchase of their very first breeding ewe or doe.

The application is open to youth ages 8–20 who are passionate about agriculture and ready to take the next step in livestock ownership. Applicants will be asked to share their goals, experience, and how they plan to care for and grow their new flock or herd.

Premier 1 Supplies Renews Support

The RSG Foundation would like to thank Premier 1 Supplies for their renewed support of the First Flock-Herd grant program.

The Foundation’s goal is to award 20 breeding sheep & goats to youth across the country to help them get started in raising small ruminants. Premier 1 Supplies has committed to providing a $500 gift certificate to each grant winner to purchase supplies from premier1supplies.com.

This makes Premier 1 Supplies’ commitment for 2026 at $10,000! The Foundation matches this gift with $500 cash award in addition to a breeding animal.

Applications are due by October 1, 2025 for animals to be awarded on January 15th, 2026.

Donate Products and Services to our Annual Holiday Auction

The RSG Foundation will hold our annual Holiday Auction in November on Willoughby Online Sales. If you have products or services you would like to donate to support this effort, please email us at: lisa.edge@rsgfoundationinc.org

In the past, breeders have donated genetics, fishing trips, on-farm experiences, artwork, handmade items, and more.

Your support helps us raise funds for youth education, grants, thought leadership programs, and other initiatives to support the sustainability of the small ruminant industry.

Auction Date: November 18th, 2025

Donations due by October 31st.

All donors receive an acknowledgment letter of your donation to our 501-c3. If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return, you may be entitled to claim a charitable deduction for your RSG Foundation donations.
